The valley of Bagnes is the biggest
municipality of Switzerland with a surface of 296 km2 of which 26 km2
of forest, 20 km2 of agricultural earth and 73 km2 of glacier.
Since 1968, the flora and the fauna are protected by a nature reserve
of 150 km2.
